Cockhill Apiary is a small apiary located in Colfax, NC. We specialize in local wildflower honey from the Guilford/Forsyth County area. Our honey is organic (non-certified) raw, honey that has not been refined. Our bees are not treated with any chemicals or antibiotics, as are most commercial beekeepers, so the honey you get is pure. We only sell the current year's crop - all honey is fresh from the bees to the bottle to your table. Our honey is made from a mixture of wildflowers within a three mile radius of our home. Sources include tulip poplar, red maple, dandelion, violet, thistle and black locust. It is an amber, rich honey, full of flavor. The honey flow begins in our area about the 25th of February, when the red maples start to bloom. Various wildflowers come in before our main honeyflow, the tulip poplar flow, begins. The summer has a dearth of nectar available for the bees; they forage mostly on clover and a few wildflowers in July and August. The fall flow of goldenrod and aster begins in late September. Included are some fresh herbs. We produce delicacy quality meats including: pasture finished (grass-fed) Jersey Beef, free-range pastured chicken, homegrown pork. All are produced here on our farm without routine antibiotics or added hormones. Meats are USDA inspected and have no artificial preservatives. Pork sausage is seasoned with natural herbs. Customer comments rate our products as top quality, the very best. We sell mainly at the Piedmont Triad Farmer's Market and here at the farm by appointment.

Begun in 1993 as an excuse to leave the stress of city living behind, our family decided to turn a hobby into a working sheep farm. The 128 beautiful, hilly acres are home to our flock of Corriedale, Dorset, and Navajo Churro sheep as well as cattle, angora goats and guard llamas. Raised sustainably, we sell hormone and antibiotic free lamb (whole or parts), fleeces & roving for hand-spinners, yarn, blankets, and sheepskins. Our products are available at the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market (May-Dec.), at farm events (Feb., April, and Sept.) and anytime at the Farm if you call ahead. Our lamb is also available at J & S Farm store at the market.

Rocking F Farm is built with strong family values and a passion for cattle. The operation consists of approximately 200 head of registered Angus, Simmental, Shorthorn, and Maine-Anjou brood cows. In 2005 we won Grand Champion AOB Heifer at the North Carolina State Fair. We also provide animals for 4-H and FFA students to raise for show. You can find our local pasture raised beef at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market and the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market. In the future we hope to also offer farm produce.
