Piedmont Grown
The Piedmont Grown logo is displayed with farm products grown, raised, or made in the North Carolina Piedmont. When you see the Piedmont Grown logo, you know you're buying fresher foods that support local farms, strengthen the local economy, preserve rural culture, and protect the natural beauty of the Piedmont Region.
When displayed with food and farm products, the Piedmont Grown label helps consumers, retailers, and wholesalers easily distinguish local agricultural products from other products.
Stay connected with healthy, fresh food; the farmers who grow it; and the markets, grocers, restaurants, and other local food system businesses committed to using locally grown products. Sign up for their newsletter (at the bottom of the webpage)

The Cooperative Extension Service
EXTENSION'S NEW FOCUS: Teaching local residents about where food comes from and encouraging them to support local growers.
It has begun the “10 Percent Campaign,” which supports a cooperative initiative to build the state’s local food economy from farm to fork. “The more local the purchase, the better to keep the dollars rolling here in Guilford County,” Wickliffe says. “The only way to have local food is by keeping farms in business.”

Triad Local First
A budding non-profit that is under the BALLE umbrella (Business Alliance for Local Living Economies)
It's like the Chamber of Commerce but only for locally owned businesses. Their tag line is Shops, Services, Food and Farms!
At this point, they have 60+ Greensboro members and they plan to include Winston-Salem and High Point at a later date.
This is a new group and their food and farm part has synergies with our organization. We at Slow Food Piedmont plan to foster a close relationhip with Triad Local First.

The first milestone is to target 25 gardens and increase this as the project gains momentum..."
